Studying Lightwave 3D |
I am very well-accustomed with 3d-modeling, especially with Swift 3D but I recently learned the basics of Lightwave 3D, another 3D modeling application and so it seems that there is a mountain of differences!Studying Lightwave 3DSwift 3D and Lightwave 3D are both great 3D modeling software. But there are huge differences between the two.Swift 3D focuses on ease of use. You can churn up models after models using just your ingenuity and the lathe and extrude tools. But when it comes to quality, Lightwave 3D, in my opinion, is far more superior. It can render very very realistic 3D objects with lots of lighting options. Another advantage of Lightwave 3D is its ability to insert bones into an object and adjust Inverse Kinematics and this can make animation a whole lot easier. However, making flash games and flash movies with 3D from Lightwave would be a lot harder than using 3D from Swift 3D. Swift 3D can export into a format called swft that can be imported directly into flash. Swift 3D can also export as raster animation using the classic swf file format, so you can directly import the output of your 3D animation. Lightwave 3D, on the other hand, just lets you export to movie formats like AVI. BUT! I have found a way around this and eventually import my 3D animations from lightwave into Flash! Hahaha.
