Speed Up Your Internet

Your Internet connection maybe slow or fast, but do you want to make it faster? I found a setting in the Windows configuration that can possibly increase your Internet speed and get more bandwidth!

Speed Up Your Internet

You see, if you go to Start-->Run and type gpedit.msc you will open a window that is the Policy Editor. From there, if you go to Local Computer Policy-->Computer Configuration-->Administrative Templates-->Network-->QOS Packet Scheduler-->Limit Reservable Bandwidth you will see that it says not configured. Then try clicking on the Explain Tab and read. It says "By default, the Packet Scheduler limits the system to 20 percent of the bandwidth of a connection, but you can use this setting to override the default." So it means 20% of your Internet bandwidth of your computer is reserved for Windows usage. Probably for Windows updates and who knows what else. So go back to the initial tab and then enable the reservable bandwidth and set it to 0. This means Windows XP will hold back no bandwidth whatsoever and will give you full speed!

This is not some kind of hack and is perfectly safe. It just some configuration setting that you can adjust. But you need to log on as administrator. I have not tried this using Windows Vista yet but you probably need to find the Reservable Bandwidth section to adjust the setting too!

[Recent Events] I am halfway through the process of drawing my friends in cartoon mode and tagging them on facebook and I am working on WWX and a Fighting Game Engine. But I am putting that on hold to make way for my new simulator...
