My Favorite Exercises - Plank |
It is also important to train the inner abdominal muscles in addition to the outer abdominal muscles. And the Plank is a great exercise to do just that.My Favorite Exercises - PlankThe Plank is done like this. First you need to get into this position, as shown below. You have to hold it for as long as possible. There are 2 variations. The first one is done by resting your body on your forearms. The 2nd one is done by resting your body on your elbows. If the floor surface is hard, it maybe painful though. With this exercise, you strengthen your core abdominal muscles aka the transversus abdominis. A stronger core will make your body stronger so you can do more. And it will also hold your outer abdominal muscles in, so that they will not jut out. Ever come across some people who have no belly fat and they have six pack abs but the six packs are sticking out? One reason for that is because their inner ab muscles (transversus abdominis) lack training. And the Plank exercise is a lot easier and takes a lot less time to do than lots of sit-ups and crunches that are risky and won't do much good to you. Hell, I can even play my PSP and do the Plank variation 1!! Referers Info
