Glycemic Load Measurement |
Today I have been researching on Glycemic Load. It turns out that this food measurement is of the utmost importance when determining the correct kinds of food to eat to lose fat.Glycemic Load MeasurementYou see, Glycemic Load and Glycemic Index are measurements to determine whether a particular type of food will be converted to glucose and enter your bloodstream fast once you eat them... or something like that. Normally foods with a lot of carbohydrates have high Glycemic Loads, like sugar, white flour, rice, etc...Foods that have no carbohydrates have almost no Glycemic Load value. These include fish and meat. Sweet and grain foods have a very high GL value, like sugars, honey, some fruits and most grains. Although we should always watch our food so as not to take in extra calories, we should also always watch out for high GL foods. Eating lots of and lots of sweet food like doughnuts can cause a high rise in blood sugar level and cause hyperglycemia. And in some cases, the body detects this spike in blood sugar level and releases a lot of insulin to deal with it. As a result, the blood is cleaned and left with a very low level of blood sugar, aka hypoglycemia. To conclude, I believe the right choice, at least for me, is to eat all types of foods but in moderation, and to make sure I get all the essential nutrients. Referers Info
