Fire Pro Wrestling is a brand of wrestling video games. One of the most awesome brand. No. The most awesome. At a glance, the game may look crappy, with 2D graphics and all, but once you play the game, you will know it is better than most 3D wrestling games.

Fire Pro Wrestling

Fire Pro Wrestling focuses on details and gameplay instead of graphics. The game still uses 2D sprites and it maybe hard to play in some cases. Instead of button-bashing, Fire Pro Wrestling uses a timing system. During a grapple, the player who hits the button right at the time of the grapple will win it and execute a move.

Fire Pro Wrestling shines especially in the wrestler-creation section. True, in the Smackdown vs Raw games, you can create realistic 3D wrestlers, but the focus in those games is appearance-wise. In Fire Pro Wrestling, you can still create realistic wrestlers but only using 2D sprites. But the best part is how you can customize their moves, mental preferences and Artificial Intelligence (AI). You can determine what moves to use at which point of a particular match. This is something Fire Pro Wrestling can do and Smackdown vs Raw cannot.

I remembered playing the SNES Super Fire Pro Wrestling X Premium at my friend's house when I was a teenager and I fell in love with the game right away. Now, I am playing the PS2 version - Fire Pro Wrestling Returns! This new version has even more modes, including UFC-style fighting. Really cool. Graphics are still 2D sprites but that is not a problem. And you can create tons of wrestlers in there, and even create your own championships (titles) and promotion brands. So in a way, you can start an efed using Fire Pro Wrestling Returns... sorta.
