Chess Ingame Objectives

Most able casual players who are quite good at chess still lose in the end. How do I know? I am one of them. Haha, I am actually not an expert in chess, but I kinda picked up some strategies and techniques. One very important thing to remember throughout the whole game is the current ingame objective.

Chess Ingame Objectives

You see, during every phase of a chess game, may it be the opening, middle or ending, there is an objective. A goal. Something you need to accomplish. And what goal would that be? Well, it is actually up to you. It can be to defend, to get ahead, to win moves, to attack, to simplify the equation... whatever you deem would bring you victory.

For example, during the middle game, you maybe winning by one pawn. And that pawn is at quite a good position, halfway up the board. You can set your current objective to simplify the equation, that is to force exchanges until what is left for both you and your opponent are... maybe a rook and a king, but you have the additional pawn. Then you can force the pawn up and win.

And it is crucial to always have that objective in mind and not get strayed by other thoughts unless another better strategy arises... better than your current objective. Quoting the example mentioned earlier, you may encounter a situation where the king is trapped at a corner with your queen nearby and you smell easy checkmate. Then why not? By all means. Or else, having too many thoughts an forgetting your main objective would mean disaster.

[Recent Events] I am halfway through the process of drawing my friends in cartoon mode and tagging them on facebook and I am working on WWX and a Fighting Game Engine. But I am putting that on hold to make way for my new simulator...
