Blogger SEO Page Title Problem

You see, from the views of SEO (Search Engine Optimization), the title of a webpage must be the topic of the webpage. When you browse to a webpage concerning SEO Techniques, the title should say SEO Techniques. Sadly, the Blogger templates all put the title of the blog in front of the main page name. This sucks for SEO.

Gladly, there is a workaround. If you go to the edit HTML template section of your blog Layout Settings and look for this code:

<title><data:blog.pageTitle/></title>

and replace it with:

<title><data:blog.pageName/></title>

You will get the title of the post as the webpage title, instead of the Blog's Name first. But then if you go to the homepage of the blog, it will have no title. But not to worry. Instead of the above code, use this:

<b:if cond='data:blog.pageType == "item"'> <title><data:blog.pageName/> | <data:blog.title/></title> <b:else/> <title><data:blog.pageTitle/></title> </b:if>

Everything will be OK!!!
